Pope Francis has called for a Year of Mercy which will begin on Tuesday, December 8th which is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. What this Year of Mercy is about is probably pretty obvious. However I would like to highlight two areas that I think that we should all focus on. The first thing that I would like to focus on is the importance of accepting the Gift of God’s Mercy for ourselves. I believe that Pope Francis wants all of us to know the wonder and power of God’s healing Grace. Let us spend this Year of Mercy rediscovering the Joy of being set free from the guilt that has a tendency to hold us down. May we be able to do this because we have rediscovered God’s great love for us, for you! The second focus of this Year of Mercy is that as God has forgiven us for our failures we are called to help others be set free by offering them the Mercy that God has shared with us.
God’s continued Peace,
