This week I am blessed to be able to host for the third time Totus Tuus which is a week -long Catholic camp at St. Ambrose for students from grades 1 - 12. The grade school students meet during the day and the high school students meet in the evening. It is run by two seminarians and two college age women. And as you have probably figured out “Totus Tuus” means “Totally Yours”. In this week-long camp the students spend time learning about the riches of our faith while at the same time having a crazy time. The day is a mixture of running around like crazy, eating lots of snacks, learning about one of the Mysteries of the Rosary, and some part of our Mass. And the highlight of the day is the celebration of the Mass at 11:30 to which everyone is invited. The reason that I look forward to this week is because I love to see the children getting engaged and excited about our faith. Our Faith is rich and beautiful but I think that we don’t always allow ourselves to appreciate what our Faith is all about. It is always my hope that it not be only the children who get excited about the richness of our faith but that all of us allow ourselves to get engaged and excited. One week makes a difference in some of these children’s lives. Image what a week could do for us?
