As many of you know, on September 4th Pope Francis celebrated the Mass at which Mother Teresa of Calcutta was canonized as a Saint of the Catholic Church. Saint Mother Teresa sounds a little strange, but she is indeed someone that everyone can look to when it comes to how we are to look for the presence of Christ in the person in front of us even those on the fringes of society. As we all know, this is not always easy to do, but we now have a Saint to turn to for an example and encouragement as we strive to care for others as we all want others to care for us. If Saint Mother Teresa could see the presence of Jesus in each person that she assisted, why can’t we?
