This week the Addison County Fair opens for the 68th year! This fact brings back many memories of hanging out at the Barton Fair and everything that went into showing cattle for over 25 years. Each memory is a story in itself. The memories I remember most are sleeping in the barn on hay, being all dressed in white on Show Day, interacting with visitors to the barns encouraging children to touch a cow for the first time, displaying our Ribbons with pride, and finally trying to win the Herdsman Award which was an Award for having the best decoration, cleanest barn and being the most welcoming to visitors. These memories can never be taken away. Do you have your favorite memories of the Fair? We’ll take about it when I see you at the Fair!
God’s continued Peace,
