Last weekend I had the opportunity to climb to the top of St. Peter’s Dome. I was literally on top of the world. From my view point I could see all of Rome and all of the major landmarks of what is known as the eternal city. It was quite the sight on a beautiful sunny day. I realized that as I looked down upon the city before me that from this vantage point of being above and not down on the street gave me a much better understanding of how to get to where I wanted to go. So I began to think about how can we do this with our life! How can we rise above the forest so that we can have a better vantage point of the spiritual landscape before so that we do not end up going around in circles, but move forward in the direction that God is calling us and that hopefully we want to go. As I thought about the question only two answers came to mind. First, to climb the spiritual mountain of prayer and asking God, and second to seek the assistance of those holy individuals in our lives who know the path well. Enjoy the journey. I know that I did.
God’s continued Peace!
