How do you celebrate July 4th and the freedom that we are blessed to have? I know many communities have parades that draw many of you to partake in the festivities including the “great outhouse race” of Bristol. I know that the store shelves are usually pretty low on hamburgers and hot dogs at the end of the day because of all of the back yard family gatherings where a good time is had by all. And I know that at the end of the day that finding the perfect spot to watch the local fireworks is a tradition of many people where everyone goes ooh and aah as the fireworks explodes overhead into a perfect image. As I thought about this I realized that the exploded image of a firework is a good example of what it takes for us to know the freedom that we know. Let me explain. Just image how many elements of the firework have to come together for us to have the perfect image that is over our head. The design and colors all have to work together. This is what we need to have in order for us to know freedom. The diversity of each one of us with our beliefs and our nationality must come together to form the perfect image that is not overhead but within us all. Watch the fireworks and see if you agree!
